Young Careers
Young Careers is a Greater London Authority initiative that provides students in the capital with innovative and useful careers advice.
We create important links between employers and local schools/colleges that help young people to fulfill their potential.
How it Works
1 - Becoming a Champion
Sign up to become a Young Careers Champion. There is no cost involved.
Our Engagement Managers will provide you with all the information you need to get started.
2 - Understanding Needs
We will partner you up with our associated London schools. Each one has undergone a Needs Analysis to identify gaps in their careers offer.
Our Engagement Managers will also explore your reasons for getting involved, your objectives and available resources.

3 - Delivering Activities
Delivering fun and informative activities to students is at the heart of what we do.
This is your chance to share information about what working in your organisation or sector involves, how students can plan a pathway to a career with you and help give them the best chance of achieving their goals and ambitions.
The range of activities you can contribute to includes:
- Careers Fairs
- Careers Presentations
- Interactive Workshops
- Sector Introductions
- Workplace Trips
- CV and Interview Support
- Inspiring Talks
- Work Placements
- Uni Applications

4 - Networking and Sharing
Termly Networking Meetings bring together schools, employers and local stakeholders – including Greater London Authority and London Councils representation.
We share best practice and create opportunities for labour marketing information sharing, business networking improving education/employment relationships.

Get Involved
If you are interested in becoming a Young Careers Champion to represent your company, please complete our contact form.
We would also love you to join if you are self-employed and run your own business. One of our Engagement Managers will then be in touch for a no obligations call.
Please note that this is not an employment service. If you would like employment support to find a job or an apprenticeship, please apply to our Youth Employment Skills programme instead.
School Career Events
We host a range of career fairs and events at local schools where Young Careers Champions can inform, inspire, and educate students about their career options and the current world of work.
"I like listening to the next generation. It’s about giving them information and guidance to some extent but it’s about listening to concerns and hearing about what are they excited about in the world of work.”
Tom Hadley, Hadley's Comment, Young Careers Champion
